Syria Relief & Development (SRD) was founded in November 2011 in direct response to the Syria humanitarian crisis. SRD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and has worked to provide aid for nearly 10 years to Syrians affected by violence, poverty, hunger, and displacement. The volatile situation in Syria has created a dire need for food security, shelter, protection, and healthcare, among others. SRD works to address these needs through comprehensive and integrated programs within Syria and in neighboring regions. Our Response: Although the challenges that lie ahead are tremendous, it’s important to highlight the incredible humanitarian efforts of our teams on the ground in Syria—over 2,200 brave women and men who continue to persevere in the most dangerous and desperate of conditions. These efforts have been made possible through the generosity of our donors and partners for life-saving programs. As of January 1, 2021, we’ve delivered over $108 million in life-saving aid and over 13 million humanitarian interventions since 2011.
