Islamic Center of Greater Austin - Zakaah and Sadaqah ONLY
ICGA provides financial and humanitarian assistance to our community members in need, and is a part of the Greater Austin Muslim Relief Committee (GAMRC). The GAMRC was formed in 2014 to coordinate the zakat (charity) work in the Greater Austin area, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Lake Travis area. Georgetown, and Leander.
GAMRC coordinates with major charity organizations in Austin to provide a wide range of services to support the need in the Austin Community and heavily relies on your financial support. The following are some of the services:
Helps support the need to pay rent, electricity, food and some cases of urgent debts and medical expenses.
Provides support to domestic violence cases, single moms, widows, and orphans.
Provides a food basket twice during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Operates a space in a low-income complex for refugee kids to attend quran classes and educational programs.
Distributes Eid gifts, and food and fruit baskets.
Helps facilitate furniture, car, food, and other donations between the donors and those in need.
Collects and distributes Zakaat Ul Fitr before Eid Ul Fitr prayer.
Collects and distributes Udhiya (Qurbani) meat during Eid Ul Adha
Connects community members with those in need to provide fun activities during Eid and during school breaks for the students in need
Provides educational support to the less fortunate by reaching out to community volunteers. The Committee currently handles 10 to 12 tutors that provide excellent education to underserved students.
Provides chrome books to low income students to keep up with online learning.
We encourage you to donate your sadaqah and zakat to ICGA to be able to continue supporting the work that the GAMRC is doing to serve our community
